Blessed in Vatican. Hotel is very conveniently located...near shops, restaurants, Basilica of St Peter, Sistine Chapel and the likes..it was easy to take taxis to go outside Vatican. Elevator was a bit small but it was otherwise a "useful sight" for us with luggage. Room was spacious and airy..very comfortable. Most of all, staff at reception were super friendly and very helpful. . .

Comfortable mid-price hotel in a great location. The period between Christmas and New Year is peak busy time in Rome. So, a price of 240EUR/206GBP (inc taxes) per night for a small double is not unreasonable. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable (although lots of mirrors!); staff were all helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts had lots of choice. If we were here in summer we would definitely have used the small patio garden. Location, right by Vatican, is excellent, although buses and metro always involved a longish walk one end or the other. We really enjoyed the local restaurants (Passepartout, Passetto di Borgo and Tonnarello around the corner). Plus tea time treats from the Gelateria just next door and Caffeteria di Borgio. As we had visited Rome a couple of times previously we avoided the 'big' attractions - highlights for us were our day trips out to Tivoli and Ostia Antica, and our morning walk in Villa Borghese was just heavenly, compared to the nightmare crowds later in the day around Trevi, Pantheon, and Piazza Navone.. .

Good on balance. Though the street is pedestrianised it is sometimes noisy. Air con as with other hotels in Italy is not available during the Spring so an open window means sleeping is not so easy. The plus is a fantastic location near the Vatican. We preferred to go out for breakfast rather than the hotel offering in the basement, though that was perfectly adequate.. .

. Splendid, classy property -- very old school and dignified as suits its proximity to the Holy See. We visit Rome often and this is easily one of the best hotels just blocks from St. Peter's basilica. Bravo to discreet and capable hotel team!. .

Clean & Comfortable Stay Around the corner from The Vatican!. I chose this hotel based off of its reviews and because it was located within hopping distance of Vatican City. I didn't know what to expect but from the moment I entered the hotel, I could tell it was something special. When I got into my room I was surprised at how spacious it was! I should also mention it was SUPER CLEAN. This is a 3 star hotel, it does not have "bells and whistles" but you really don't need that. Everything you truly need, you have here (plenty of space, a clean room and bathroom, towels, and a comfortable bed) and there are plenty of great restaurants and souvenir places nearby. A bit of a walk to get to the major tourist attractions, but that's part of the fun, right? I thought so, and enjoyed my walks. It gives you a way to explore more the town. I found the staff at the hotel to be pleasant and helpful and have absolutely no complaints. They also arranged transportation for me to collect me and drop me off at the airport.. .

Nice Friendly Hotel with excellent breakfast . This is a small hotel with nice rooms but not a lot of options. There were very few rooms with bathtubs.Rooms were on the small side and despite being a little warm outside, there was no AC option. We had to open the window. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was wonderful.. .

When in Rome........do as we do ....enjoy Sant'Anna. I agree with the the many positive reviews. If you don't need a gym or a pool or a glitzy restaurant but a friendly, elegant,well-run base very close to the Vatican, this is ideal. This was our second visit and we would not hesitate to return. The lack of an evening restaurant is not a problem. We enjoyed a very good dinner at Arlu which is right next door.. .
