Stylish boutique hotel in brilliant old town location. We had a one night stay at the Sanasaryan hotel, enroute from Singapore to Athens. Location is as good as it gets, within walking distance to the tram stops & eateries, & key attractions such as Bhosphorous, Mosques, Basilica Cisterns & the grand Bazaar.
The Hotel has a spacious classy lobby. Rooms are also nicely appointed, although air conditioning/ventilation could be better.
They have a great service team, helpful & responsive; including Hassan & Rudvan.
The great thing is many neighborhood cafes & cake shops open early, conducive for early morning walk.
One inconvenience is access road to hotel is closed by 10am, so in our case, we were met at drop off point, (3 minute walk away) by Hotel concierge.. .

A very nice new hotel close to the main attractions. A new boutique hotel with a stylish interior close to the main attractions. High-quality materials and products are used in the interior decoration. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. Breakfast a la carte. The staff was friendly and very helpful.. .

Great Suite, F&B Overpriced. I believe this was the 25th Marriott chain hotel I tried in Istanbul, with more than 40 in total across all hotel chains. Marriott has historically been strong in Istanbul for hotels at the level of Autograph-Tribute, but not as much in the luxury segment. EDITION and W failed and rebranded. St.Regis used to be good but now caters more to non-Bonvoy guests who splash money with impunity. Ritz is ok but not necessarily “wow” . The two JWMs are also ok but I am not convinced this brand is a good fit for the city; Luxury Collection is a much better candidate in theory and finally there is a LC in Istanbul.
There used to be almost no hotel chains located on the Golden Horn besides perhaps Four Seasons. Now more and more chains are taking over old historical buildings and renovating to turn into a hotel. Hilton has a Curio, Accor has two, Marriott has two Autographs (one of which I tried before), and now this LC which opened one year ago.
They started with unrealistic prices 600 EUR last year but it's been trending down; for some dates it's even cheaper than some of the Autographs (non-luxury hotels) so it was good timing to give Sanasaryan Han a chance. For sure the strong point is location although for last 100 meters after taxi we must walk because it's a pedestrian street during day time hours. The hotel concierge met us at drop off point after contact with chat in app so we had help with luggage, but if it had been raining, then the unique nature of the location would be more painful... that's the drawback of being in this location.
I was upgraded as Bonvoy Ambassador Elite to full suite (bypassing the junior suite) for the entire stay which was great. Rarely do I get a room type that sells for 4x the price of the standard room as complimentary upgrade so it was very generous. The suite was lovely, it’s a very good result of the building renovations.
Food & Beverage is not the strength of the hotel, breakfast was fairly standard and not memorable, and dining was very expensive (plus small portions) considering we can walk outdoors and have tons of restaurants. Their prices are a bit like a captive resort where we would have no choice but to eat the hotel, but this hotel is anything but.. .
