Reward for good exam results. A deal was done that good exam results would mean id take my son away . Knowing he likes football Barcelona was chosen and the Ilunion Hotel is 5mins walk from the Football team , The Hotel receptionist was very helpful and we found the guided bus tour next to the stadium. We brought a bus ticket and visited the sights inc the Olympic stadium and watched a football match . Prebooking a taxi to pick us up from The University (10mins walk) as the police close the roads for the matches . .

Good. Room is big, bed is comfortable. Sheets and pillows were changed every day. The room was clean. Location is closed to metro and bus station. Not that far from Barcelona attractions, like 40 minutes walking from Plaça España.
You can find nice places to eat near by.
The breakfast was very good, a lot of variety of cheese and meat dishes. Omelette is freshly cooked in front of you.. The room furniture is very old. It looks like the 90s. Also the floor seems to have holes in it. It is rated as 4 stars hotel, but the 4 stars are only for the lobby which is renovated. The rooms are like 2 stars..

Some highs, mostly lows. The hotel was convenient to the subway and had a wonderful breakfast buffet. The lobby was tastefully decorated and stylish. But the rooms are old and shabby. This is a pet friendly hotel, and our room smelled strongly of dog the entire week we were there. We tried opening the window to air it out, but nothing could dispel the odor. The heat/AC didn't work, though it was generally comfortable in the room, maybe from surrounding spaces. But whether we turned it all the way up or all the way down, it didn't change. The tub/shower setup had a swinging glass door that might have worked if it sealed to the tub, but it did not seal. All the water just ran down to the floor. This flooded the floor every time we tried to take a shower. We tried to redirect the shower nozzle toward the wall, tried standing between the shower head and the other side of the tub, and everything ese we could think of, but nothing helped. I imagine it was quite a trial for the cleaning staff, as well! They also were stingy with toiletries, and once you used something they did not replace it. Including at one point toilet paper, which we had to track down someone and replace it on our own. The mattress was quite hard and the pillows were very strange, not real pillows, but more like decorative pillows, but that was all we had to sleep on. Poor sleep, with aching neck and hips in the morning.. .

In general the stay was positive, we had a spacious room, the staff was very friendly and helpful.. The room was very spacious, the hotel was renovated, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The fact that in order to use the pool we had to pay €19 per person for only 95 minutes and that this was not indicated on the website before we made the reservation.
Another downside was the shower, which was completely open since it was for people with reduced mobility, so when showering the bathroom would get all flooded and we needed to use our towels on the floor to absorb the water..
