Fragrance hotel … it’s all in the name !!. When booking the Fragrance hotel we didn't realise it was called that because it absolutely stinks. We arrived for our anniversary for a 3 day break and the smell hit us as soon as we walked through our room door. Didn't want to make a fuss , opened some windows and hoped it would go away. Seemed later at night the smell was coming from the bathroom, possible up the toilet as got worse when you heard other rooms flush their toilet. Raw sewage springs to mind. 4am on the first night we woke up freezing as couldn't close the windows and the smell was getting worse by the second. that bad I couldn't shower before going out as couldn't stand the smell in the bathroom long enough. Spoke to man on reception on way out and stressed how awful it was . On our arrival late at night after walking round Rome for 13 hours and being totally exhausted we headed straight for our room to be met by the same awful smell ! With zero energy I went to speak to reception to be told it was a plumbing issue and she was sorry but she wasn't a plumber. Absolutely not my problem! We were told there was no rooms available but to go down to reception as soon as we were awake and we would be given a new one so l could shower before going out. Again we were awake from around 4am as the smell was so over powering and we went down for our new room at 7am as couldn't handle it anymore! Was told by receptionist we could have a new room but not until after 2pm. Now into day two of our 3 day holiday and I still couldn't wash properly. Exhausted we went to spend another day in Rome. Returned at 7pm that night (night before flying home to have been given a new room on other side of the building, it smelt better, bed was better as we now didn't have two single beds just pushed together.BUT you could hear everything through the walls. Could hear them peeing anytime they went to the toilet, washing their hands, flushing the toilet everything. As if it was in our room, so for the 3rd night in a row we didn't get a decent sleep. Really disappointed in our whole experience here, we came for a break just the two of us and don't get much time to do that as we have 4 kids and have went home more tired than we came. Definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel and definitely will not be back !!. .

Passable. My room 427 is under the breakfast room. Every morning I hear people talking and moving the chairs around. Noise.

Lovely place. Lovely place, arround 15 minutes from Vatican. Lots of shops and restaurants. The room and bathroom were super clean. Reception team so helpfull and nice. Very nice tasty breakfast with the beautiful Vatican view. Im sure I will come back.. .

Really enjoyed our visit in Rome. The hotel is centrally located near the Vatican, St Pietro Cathedral. Theres good tran. Centrally located near the Vatican City.. Steep walk from the train station..

Exceeded our expectations. This hotel exceeded all expectations. The location is perfect and so quiet at night times. The rooms are extremely spacious and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. We only had breakfast her one morning during our stay but it was amazing value for €10. Will definitely be returning. .
