Great location . Recommended with one reservation. The hotel is in a fantastic location for shops & restaurants
It is stylish & peaceful.
We slept well and were happy with our room and bathroom
Most of the staff were very friendly indeed, save for one particular man on reception who dealt with check in and who took payment from us. I think the hotel will know who I mean.
He was on duty on the 15th January during early evening
He seemed to think it was ok to give me the hotel tablet telling me to type in the answers to a vast array of questions. I felt that it was the job of the receptionist, to input information into the computer, having obtained it from the guest by asking relevant questions
This was particularly so as I and my partner were extremely tired, having been travelling for 10 hours, so I was really too weary to start doing his job on the computer.
His attitude was less than friendly, so although the other 2 on reception were extremely friendly, even offering us champagne, that was cancelled out by the attitude of this man
I explained that I was too tired to deal with the hotel’s computer system.
He then took it back and filled in the information himself
There is an earlier review on here saying much the same thing with which I agree. .

Not a 4 star hotel…. More like 2 or 3. Location was great. NOT 4 star hotel, as it was sold for… barely 3. No amenities, no room service, furniture was threadbare, towels old, no robes or slippers, etc

This cannot be 4-star. Avoid !. Great location. Staff very good (except breakfast staff). Terrible breakfast. Poor housekeeping. Shower temperature inconsistent. Poor lighting in room. Uncomfortable bed. Tatty communal areas and room dated and in need of refurbishing.
Staff member entered room whilst we were in there without even knocking..
