Poor Reservation Process. Very disappointed with our latest experience at Hotel Acanthe, a hotel that we have previously stayed at and were generally satisfied with in the past. We tried to make reservations using the hotel's online reservation system and were offered a summer discount price. Unfortunately, we did not receive a confirmation from the hotel and decided to make reservation through Expedia from which we received a prompt confirmation with a better price. A day later we received an email from the hotel advising us that they were still awaiting confirmation from us of our hotel reservation. The email indicated that if we did not confirm our reservation would be cancelled and a Euro 500 cancellation fee would be charged. Since the Expedia reservation could still be cancelled without a penalty, we cancelled the Expedia reservation and promptly received confirmations from the hotel and Expedia that both reservations had been cancelled. When we called the hotel, they could not explain why their reservation system had not generated an initial confirmation or why the cancellation of the Expedia reservation had resulted in a cancellation of both reservations. They were also unable (or unwilling) to honor either the original rate that they had quoted with the summer discount or the Expedia rate. Their only proposed solution was to re-book through Expedia which we did at a higher rate that either of the previously quoted rates.. .

. C'est payant, la taxe de séjour 16,9€ pour 2 que nous sommes rendu compte que nous étions dans un 4 étoiles...je ne savais pas qu'il fallait un caisse à outils et mettre son regard critique de côté en permanence.... .
