Disappointing but good location. During the checkin the male staff who was I. The counter said that he would make arrangements for our big size trolleys to be delivered to the room and also made a note of our rooms ,which is very rare in Europe unless you’re in a five star hotel, but to my surprise when he was about to put our luggages on the trolley , the female staff started talking to the male staff and after a while he told to me that they will not transfer . Not a good way to show courtesy. Anyway overall some of the female staffs were not very friendly. Elevators were not working with card sometimes. Rooms are average and breakfast good. I would give it 2.5 stars.. .

Good. Breakfast is superb. Lots of menus and varieties. The hotel is clean and convenient.. Confusion in checking in at the beginning. I have requested twin beds but they could not have it and did not inform me beforehand. There is no amenity kits in room..

Excellent stay !. It was a great stay! The hotel has an excellent location. Getting to know the city and its attractions is so easy. The hotel staff is pleasant and willing to help. Sleep is undisturbed and the breakfast was suoer, with a great selection of dishes. I highly recommend the hotel.. .

Very disappointing hotel.. The amenity of this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. It is tired and not well maintained.
The bed was hard. The bed linen was clean, but not at all comfy or luxurious. The pillows were very small, hard, flat and gave little support. I asked for better pillows to be sent to our room, but similar terrible pillows were delivered.
We could not find a box of tissues in the room and asked if some could be provided, only to be told that the hotel did not supply tissues to the room. We were surprised afterwards when we did actually find a box of tissues in a cupboard.
We needed a small sewing kit for running repairs on our coat. The hotel does not provide any such items though.
On the ground floor lobby there is one men’s toilet which is shared as a disabled toilet. I have no problem with that. My gripe is that the lock on the door does not work. So there is no privacy if someone else needs to use that toilet. They can just walk in and interrupt your business.
But the piece de resistance was the hotel’s elevator. Until now, I had never been stuck in an elevator. The elevator doors closed me in on the ground floor, but the lift would not go up or down AND would not open to let me out. So I was banging loudly on the door until another guest on the ground floor pushed the call button on the outside which thankfully opened the lift door and allowed me to escape somewhat relieved.
On the plus side, the hotel restaurant and bar were pretty good. The location was handy too. Quite close to a metro station, tram and shopping centre.
But all-in-all, Novotel Barcelona City does not deserve its four star rating.. .

Comfortable stay in suite family room . We had passed through barcelona 8 days before and stayed in two rooms in an airport hotel but as we left our son we decided without daughter to take one room the family room and we arrived to special free parking below for accor members and sofa bed was made up, the room had extra separate toilet, bath to die for and great shower and was very comfortable,we ate breakfast which good ate and drank at level 19 bar also good. . .
