Very good. Room was large with 2 comfortable beds. Shower nice and hot. Small double glazed door with small balcony looked out over last Ramblas street but was not too noisy. We were on the 2nd floor. Very very helpful to have an easy to use safe in the room. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, and eggs and bacon options. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels given regularly. Excellent for a 2 star hotel.. No English speaking TV Chanel could be found. This was disappointing especially when the weather was so wet we had to return to the hotel to shelter..

Budget Hotel. The hotel had some good qualities. Check in staff was friendly. The room was clean. The hotel was built in the 1800’s from what I understand, so it had unique architectural features. Internet worked well. Small computer safe in the room. Hotel location was good. About 3/4 mile to the HOHO bus stop. Lots of restaurants and tourist shops close by. Everything looks much smaller and more wear and tear than represented on the website. My room was really small. Not enough area to place my suitcase. Just sheets, pillow and a blanket dressed the bed. The television was about the size of a small computer monitor. The bathroom so small it was difficult to turn around. Toilet was so tight that I had to sit sideways because I am tall and my knees pressed against the wall. Mini bathtub, standing room alone. When I ordered a taxi, front desk person yelled at me not to tell him what time my flight was leaving. This could be cultural, but I regarded him as being rude. Breakfast was okay, not a large variety but for me it was enough.. .

Superb. This Hotel is located right on LA Rambla. The history of this hotel is quite interesting. Easy walking distance to many sights. Staff were very friendly and helpful.. No complaints.

Not a 4 star review. This Hotel is rated as a 2 star and if not for the friendly helpful staff I would give it that. It is certainly is not a 4 star experience. Here's the good the bad and the ugly. GOOD:The location of this hotel is convenient. On Las Ramblas close to all kinds of public transportation and eating places as well as souvenir shops of many descriptions. Staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet has a variety of choices including ham, eggs, and a potato fritata with an option of tomato sauce. The only complaint is that these are not hot but barely lukewarm. Lots of crackers and bun choices and croissants and several choices of breads. There is a choice of sliced fruits and fruit juices and coffee and a choice of teas. There is a small refrigerator in the room and the bathroom is spacious. Hotel and rooms in general is clean. This hotel unlike any other I have stayed in provides a basic tooth brush and the tiniest tube of toothpaste I have ever seen. In American jargon, this Hotel makes Hotel 6 in America look like a luxury hotel. THE BAD: I have never slept on as bad a mattress as the ones in this hotel. Both my husband and I were miserable. But because we had loads of luggage and were only staying for 3 nights we endured it but it made our stay in Barcelona challenging. Room is EXTREMELY basic. All furnishings are cheap and without style. No dressers but a closet with shelving and a small night stand between the beds. A cheap mirror hangs on the wall. The balcony in our room barely fit a small folding chair and was nearly impossible to access. THE UGLY: the shower head in the shower was so loose I was afraid it was going to fall off. The head is small and the water stream almost silly. I doubt a cheaper one could be found. The toiletries are nearly non-existent. Bath soap is about an 1 1/4 x 3/4 inch and the shampoo is a small triangular packet about 1 inch. I had brought my own so didn't use them. The "lounge" is on an upper floor and like so much the furnishings are of a time long ago and are ....well ugly. The lounge is dark and not a comfortable or pretty place to relax in not that we had time to do so. If the beds had been comfortable the stay would have been fine and I would've recommended it. But those beds are so bad I wouldn't consider staying here again.. .

Great!. The personeel was super helpful and the location was great!. There were not many options at the breakfast and the facilities are looking old..

It could have been better. The location was perfect and so was the breakfast. The staff was always friendly and available.. We stayed on the 1st floor, with the window facing the main street. The bedroom had poor windows and poor isolation from the outside noise. We could hear everything from outside and so we didn't sleep well. We could also feel the vibration of the subway, feeling almost like an earthquake - it was scary and unsettling. One of the beds was really uncomfortable, the mattress had a very clear unevenness..
