AVOID THIS HOTEL. In February 2023, I made a reservation on booking.com for the Mercure Paris Vaugirard Porte De Versailles hotel. The booking was confirmed and I received the confirmation number and even the pin code. Unexpectedly, I received an email from the hotel in March that they cancelled my room without any explanation. I tried calling the hotel and received no response. Finally, I reached out to booking.com who said that the hotel was overbooked. For the “inconvenience” they offered me a 50 euro discount on my stay. I immediately checked the hotel’s vacancies and it showed that my room (and plenty of others) were still available for the same dates but at dramatically higher prices. While I booked the room for 1,330 euros the price had increased to 2,520 euros. When planning a vacation, things happen but this situation was ridiculous. If you have important plans, I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Apparently, if they discover that they gave you too good of a deal they will cancel your booking. This is a hotel not an Airbnb so you expect a certain level of security when making plans. The fact that the hotel did not even respond to my inquiries shows that they really don’t care about their customers or their reputation.
