Three Whirlwind Nights in Rome at Hotel Montecarlo. Greetings! My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Montecarlo for three nights in March of 2024. The hotel staff is fantastic. Mica at the front desk kept us smiling and laughing every time we saw her. She welcomed us with open arms. She provided directions and tips that came in handy during our whirlwind stay in Rome. (Thank you, Mica!) Evelyn in the breakfast area is a gem too. She greeted us every morning with a smile. She noticed I was a coffee drinker. Evelyn asked if I would like a specially made double espresso each morning. Yes, please! (Thank you, Evelyn!) By the way the delicious breakfast selections were more than enough to get our day started. The Hotel Montecarlo is located in a residential area with many embassies. (Lots of security teams stationed outside many of the embassies) The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the train station. The walk is easy enough, but a little too far with luggage. We hired a cab to take us to the train station on our departure date. The front desk folks can order you a cab. They arrive within a few minutes. Very convenient. The hotel is a healthy walk to The Forum, Coliseum and Pantheon. We walked our first day. Definitely got our steps in. On our second day we opted to spend the $20 or so on a cab which whisks you through the helter-skelter streets of Rome. Our cab driver dropped us off a few minutes later literally next to the Pantheon. Money well spent especially if you have limited time in Rome. The hotel accommodations were solid. The lobby and breakfast area are immaculate. Room and bathroom are tight. The shower is basically a plastic tube with not much room to move around. Don't drop the soap. It may be small but the rain shower is fantastic. The walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbor's conversations and the soccer game they were watching. One thing that we were disappointed with was the handling of our luggage. When we arrived in the morning we were told our luggage would either be delivered to our room when it was ready or placed in a secure area by the staff. Neither happened! When we returned to the hotel later that night our luggage and bags were sitting in the bar area near an elevator completely out of sight of the front desk personnel. Our bags could have easily been taken without any hotel staff noticing at the beginning of our journey. We were not pleased. Despite this hiccup we enjoyed our three night stay at Hotel Montecarlo. A good location. The location is really well placed, an approximate 10-15 minutes walk from Termini station. It is on the other side of the main attractions, so the area felt quieter than some of the more touristy spots. Staff were all friendly and helpful.. The hotel needs a bit of a revamp - which seemed to be in progress whilst we were staying. Each morning drilling/banging started quite early, echoing through the hotel even though it was a few floors down. Our room was small, the beds narrow and quite firm. Breakfast wasn't particularly varied, offering bacon and eggs, bread, some fruit, and a mixture of cakes and pastries. It would be good to see more savoury options, and a larger variety on offer. Staff promoted the rooftop bar to us, the same place where breakfast is, and we ate there one night. The food wasn't great, and we didn't go back again..

Franco fantastico. Hotel Montecarlo was a great stay, Franco was welcoming and greeting me and Mother very well! He was so helpful on the desk and even sorted our room out in a heartbeat! Breakfast was included in the room I booked, and the woman Emily was also very good and welcoming on both mornings. we went to the rooftop bar! With arriving late, we had to eat on the rooftop bar on arrival the menu was cheap and the food was great! It is close to the Metro and a supermarket and even had a mini market directly opposite the hotel incase you need anything really enjoyed the stay would stay again They also take your hotel key card when you leave so no need to worry about losing the room key Great stay. .

Perfect!!!!! I recomend this hotel. I give the hotel 5 stars, very clean, good location, good staff, everything was perfect and as expected, highly recomend. the only comment i have is there was missing the fridge in the room.

Amazing staff. Good location only minutes from termini station and next to Turkish embassy - so it is secure. Rooms a bit cozy.

Loved our stay. Visited Rome with our daughter and her partner and we all enjoyed our stay at the Montecarlo. My wife and I reserved Room 01 which is the deluxe double with the large jacuzzi and have to say we were delighted with the room. Spacious with fridge and sofa and well sound proofed. . The jacuzzi was excellent, quite quick to fill, loads of hot water and works perfectly. Room also has a large separate shower. We were given a warm welcome by staff at reception and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The breakfast on the top teraace was good and plentiful. Scrambled eggs, bacon, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, fruit salad , cereal and good selection of cakes. Nice coffee. Would have liked a better choice of bread rolls . The hotel is situated close to the main rail station so easy to arrive by public transport from , for us, Fiumicino airport. A taxi is 55€. We found the location convenient for walking to all the main sights. The hotel also has a small bar downstairs and a bar on the terrace which would be amzing during the warmer summer months when you can sit in the open and enjoy the views. I felt that the hotel offered very good value for money and would happily return.. .
