Very bad experience in Hotel Room Mate Emir in Istanbul. Very bad experience. Hotel Room Mate Emir is situated in the worst side street of the big shopping street in Istanbul center with prostitutes, travestites and drug dealers next to the hotel. Service in the hotel is very mediocre. We had to ask various times to fill soap container, to have toilet paper, to have our room done and in some cases they even did not do what we had asked for. Service is not at the level we would expect from this hotel chain. In Hotel Room Mate Valeria in Malaga we had a very positive experience and booked this hotel in Istanbul to have a similar experience, but the opposite was the case.. .

Exceptional hotel with exceptional service. Spacious room with a comfortable bed, artistic decor throughout, exceptional service. The hotel also has a sauna and small hamam although we didn't get to use these facilities.. The aircon didn't work, but it was late winter/ early spring and we are aware that many hotels in Turkey turn their aircon systems to heating only through the winter..

Exceptional. The interior design is as gorgeous as the pictures, staff were very helpful. It was warm enough in winter and very comfortable and spacious. Its near istikkal st so great for shopping not so for the tourist attractions. We thought it was near a tram station, it is just that it was the stop for the vintage Istiklal Caddesi Tram, which was small and can be pretty hard to get on during peak periods.
