Do not recommend. This was no 5 star experience. I stayed here on holiday with a friend for a week in October 2023. This hotel needs many improvements. Our room was not well furnished / equipped (missing curtain, loose window handle and weak toilet flush), and we continued to receive bath towels that had gaping holes in them, even after multiple rounds of room service. The single bed that my friend used was not properly cleaned which caused her to break out in a rash (photo attached), and when we raised this issue (along with the torn towels) with the hotel reception, we received no apology and only a brisk reply that they will deal with it and cop-out remark that they apparently never had similar issues raised with them previously. The lift was extremely slow and doesn't look properly maintained (e.g. wires were poking out of the ceiling trim), which made me very uncomfortable with using it (photo attached). The proximity of the hotel to a mosque, tram line and main street and its unfortunate lack of sound insulation also made it difficult to get a proper night's sleep through the constant traffic / car horns and ezan every day before 6am. Based on our stay here, we are shocked that this hotel has a 5 star rating, as its standard is what we would expect from a 2 star (max) hotel.. .

RIPPED OFF. DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT RIP YOU OFF. We had originally booked (and paid) for 2 deluxe rooms at the Phosphorion Hotel in 2020 via booking.com paying over £500. However, we were unable to travel due to due to covid restrictions. After speaking to the general manager (Fareed) via WhatsApp it was agreed we could move the booking forward to 2021 or 2022 and pay the difference in any subsequent price increase. We contacted the Phosphorion in 2021 with our proposed dates for 2022 and spoke to Jamal. He got the manager to call us back and we agreed a new booking for 4 nights in September 2022.
We emailed a few months before travel to advise only 1 deluxe room was needed as our friends were no longer able to travel (and accepting there would be no refund for that room), and that we would be arranging out own airport transfer. We even emailed 48 hours before travelling just to remind them that only 1 room was required – despite paying for 2.
Having travelled over 2000 miles, we arrived exhausted at the hotel late in the evening. To our horror they denied that there was a booking for us and they had absolutely no rooms available! The receptionist said she could not accept our ‘evidence trail’ print out, and refused to contact her manager. She even suggested we set off on foot to nearby hotels to see if they had any vacancies (as we had not yet arranged a new SIM card for our phone). After telling her that was not an option the lady then agreed to phone around for us and after about 30 minutes was able to book us into another hotel, but in another area (we would have never managed this on foot). During this time, we obtained a SIM card from the hotel and we gave the number to the receptionist, requesting that her manager contact us in the morning. We never heard from him. A very kind man in reception overheard our predicament and took us to our new hotel
We ended up paying a further £420 for the new Hotel. It was a very stressful and upsetting experience.
I would strongly suggest that you DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.
THEY RIPPED US OFF BY OVER £500 and denied any knowledge of the booking despite having our print out documents.
They are dishonest, liars and thieves.. .

3 night stay . Although the rooms are in desperate need for updating we saw it simply as a bed! It’s clean and ideally located for tram station and ferry and taxi outside the door so be warned it’s noisy! Its couple of minutes walk away from the grand bizarre and good places to eat not restaurants but more like cafes. the hotel staff are amazingly helpful and without them we would probably checked into somewhere else, but location and value for money it gets an ok from us . .

Bad hotel, good location . I have booked this hotel for five days, but I hade to stay for three days only due to many reasons: the hotel bed is uncomfortable, the room is poorly furnished. There is no lobby (you have to enter through MADO restaurant entrance). . .

. The hotel is not as it was before. Lobby is no longer there only one desk for check in and the space is shared with Mado restaurant. There is one left and busy all the time and you need to wait for 5 to more minutes sometimes. Breakfast very limited .requested late check-out and was given nothing not even few minutes. I will not reserve in this hotel anymore. .

Lovely hotel in city centre.. Not easy to find because the entrance is inside the ice cream shop 'Mado' for maximum temptations! It's just a wee reception area but the staff are great and bend over backwards to anything for you. A wee cup of tea while we checked in was very welcome. The room was lovely with beautiful fittings and everything seemed new. We even had a fridge and tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom was top notch with super shower and everything working perfectly. Perhaps not a big room, but fine for a short break. Short walk to main sites in old town, and to waterfront. Close to shops and restsurants. Really good breakfast with cooked items and cold buffet.. .
