Couldn't have asked for better!. Arrived for a short stay with my daughter and was absolutely blown away! It's always a spin of the wheel when you book a hotel in a major city you don't know...... but this was most certainly a winning spin. We were welcomed with true Turkish hospitality. Our room had been upgraded, (i have mobility issues and needed a walk-in shower) and we were given the presidential suite! Oh wow! What a view!! Clear unobstructed view of Ayasofya, the Bosphorus and peeking out from behind the rooftops the Blue Mosque from the balcony. The bathroom is a mini hamman, with plenty of towels and essentials. The minibar and tea/coffee facilities generously equipped. Beds are very comfortable with good quality linens. The whole suite was spotless and inviting.
The location was exactly what we wanted. Quiet enough to be relaxing, everything we needed within a few minutes walk. Plenty of places to eat for all budgets, enough shopping to make after dinner strolls interesting and we felt safe. All the "big" sites are on the doorstep.
The buffet breakfast gave ample choice and set us up well for the day, restaurant staff are all amazing.
The front desk are all so helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and work hard to ensure you're stay is perfect. And ours most definitely was.
I'm so glad this was the hotel we decided on!. .

Our stay at the Sultanhan. My family and I recently enjoyed our first visit to Istanbul, and choosing the Sultanhan Hotel as our home away from home made the trip truly special. From the beautiful lobby and comfortable bedrooms to the stunning views and delicious food at the top-floor restaurant, every detail was impressive.
While every employee we met was kind and welcoming, I would like to specifically commend a few individuals for their exceptional service.
The gentlemen working at the front desk were incredibly helpful with suggestions, directions and reservations. In particular, on the morning of our departure, one young man stepped in when we experienced a language barrier with our driver. He handled the communication and reassured us that he would ensure we reached the airport on time, which we greatly appreciated. I would also like to recognize the kind woman who took excellent care of our room throughout our stay.
Finally, I want to offer a special commendation for Tuğçe Atas. Her service in the restaurant was outstanding. She took the time to explain various dishes and ingredients to us, and she even anticipated our preferences by having an omelette ready and pre-cut so my sister and I could share. Her proactive care and attention to detail was remarkable.. .

Sultanhan Hotel - Absolutely Great Hotel!. We absolutely loved our stay at the Sultanhan Hotel in Istanbul! The location couldn’t be better—just a short stroll to the Blue Mosque and the Sultanahmet sites. The front desk staff were friendly and amazing, always greeting us warmly and making sure we ended each long tour day with a cup of tea or rich Turkish coffee.
Our car was safely parked right beside the hotel for the entire stay, which gave us peace of mind. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a generous spread of traditional Turkish dishes along with endless tea, lattes, and cappuccinos. Tugce in the restaurant went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
The restaurant’s panoramic views of the Bosphorus and surrounding mosques were absolutely spectacular. Sultanhan Hotel truly offered comfort, hospitality, and charm in the heart of old Istanbul. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!. .

Old World Charm. My friend and I stayed here 2 nights before joining our tour group at another hotel. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and staff. It is located within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. We had several meals in the rooftop restaurant. The view of the Bosphorous was stunning and the food was delicious. The staff in the restaurant and hotel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I should add that our room was clean and comfortable. We both recommend this hotel with its old world charm. You won't regret it. I'd like to add that one day when it was snowing and the streets were slick I couldn't get my walking stick open and locked. I took it down to the reception desk and asked for help. It took 3 of them a few minutes, but they brought it to my room ready to use and I used it the rest of my 7 day trip. They didn't have to do that but I was really grateful they did.. .

Good location but noisy room issue. Good location, but noisy room issue
The hotel is in a good location, which made it easy to get around and explore the area.
However, we had a big issue with our first room (Room 105). The air-conditioning unit was incredibly loud — so noisy that it was impossible to sleep. I first called reception, but nothing was resolved. At around 11:30 pm I went downstairs and was told it would be sorted in the morning. I explained that this wasn’t acceptable and that something needed to be done immediately, either switching it off or moving us to another room.
Eventually, the man at reception did resolve the issue, although he didn’t seem very happy about it. After that, everything was fine for the rest of our stay.
Breakfast was okay — nothing special, but adequate. Overall, aside from the initial room problem, the stay was fine and the location is definitely a positive.. .

Excellent location at the center of old town. I stayed there for one night and there were two times. The location is really excellent for the sightseeing and restaurants.
The hotel has a nice restaurant on the 6th floor and I had a breakfast there.
There is a space in front of the hotel and the
view from the room was good. It become one of my favorite hotels.. .

Loved This Hotel. My first trip to Istanbul and it was a solo trip. I knew nothing about this hotel, other than looking at some reviews and I cannot tell you how happy I am that I stayed here.. the food, the rooms, and especially the staff are absolutely amazing and made my stay a happy one. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is perfectly located near all the best attractions. The mosques are close by and have regular prayer that starts early in the morning, but you can barely hear it with your window closed.. the decor is so well done and each room has its own displays of Turkish artifacts and culture in glass in and next to the rooms in the hallway.. Such a nice touch.. .

A Great Location and 5 star Service. A fantastic hotel in a great location (only 5 mins walk from the Blue Mosque and less than 10 mins from a tram stop). Large luxurious rooms with great views from the restaurant of the Blue Mosque and the Haghia Sophia. The staff were some of the most helpful you could imagine, from booking excursions and helping with directions to trains etc to resolving the ultimate holiday faux pas of leaving items in the safe at the end of the visit. The team were a credit to the hotel.. .

Perfect location for sight seeing. A very pleasant room in a great location. Everything is a bit dated, without being tatty, more in a majestic way. We were on the 3rd floor, so didn't get any view from the windows. Breakfast on the 6th floor gave ample opportunity to view the surroundings. I have to say I struggled with breakfast - the "hot" things were luke warm and quite strange, and the cold things seemed to consist of many, many ways to serve cheese. We were only there 3 days, and I ended up with hard boiled eggs and fresh bread (excellent) each morning.
Another point to bear in mind, is how long it takes a taxi to get to the hotel through the narrow streets within the Sultanahamet area.. .
