Lovely Hotel With good Location. We Stayed 7 Days In This Hotel. All the stuffs were nice. We got Duplex Superior Suite With City View and the view was Great Both in day and night . Our Suite With Tall windows Was very Relaxing and lovely. The Breakfast Was Not as Good As a Luxury Hotel and did not have a good variety and quality. The Cleanliness of The Rooms was excellent and there was a nice smell in all areas of hotel. Also the location was great, just a few minutes walk to Taksim square.. .

Excellent stay in Istanbul. Our stay at The Elysium Taksim was excellent. The staff is friendly and very helpful, the restaurant's food is excellent. The gym here is well equipped and the hotel's rooms are very nice. The water pressure is impressive and the shower is easy to operate thanks to a helpful instructional placard. This is not a criticism but just for awareness that like many overseas hotels it doesn't have washcloths so plan accordingly.. .

A textbook case of bait-and-switch – avoid at all costs. I booked this hotel due to a last-minute flight cancellation, expecting at least a comfortable night based on what I saw on Agoda. What I got instead was a nightmare wrapped in polished photos and propped up by misleading descriptions and indifferent, unprofessional staff. Let me break it down. 1. Misleading Photos & False Advertising The Agoda listing for the Deluxe King Room showcased images of a spacious, tastefully decorated room in a modern high-rise building—well-lit, with wooden beams, elegant furnishings, large windows, and views. The bathroom looked luxurious, spotless, and updated. Based on this, I paid in full and even added specific requests: High floor Quiet room Clean, well-ventilated space Reality? I was put in a completely different building—a low-rise, older annex that isn’t even pictured online. Worse, my room was in the basement, below the lobby level, with a window opening to a wall and parked car. It felt like a dungeon—claustrophobic, dark, and suffocating. The only view was someone else’s tire. 2. Hidden Awkward Location Google Maps shows the hotel just steps from the Havaist Airport Bus Stop, which is technically true, but grossly misleading. The hotel is down a steep, uneven slope. If you’re carrying luggage (as most travelers are), be warned: it’s physically challenging, especially for women, elderly guests, or solo travelers arriving at night. No bellboy offered help, no signage guided the way, and the hotel entrance feels like a back-alley loading dock rather than a luxury property. 3. Inhospitable Staff & Poor Guest Relations From the moment I walked in, I was met with cold, robotic, and unapologetic behavior. I politely explained that the room I received wasn’t what I booked. I even showed them the Agoda pictures. Their response: “We don’t have anything else available. That’s your room.” Not even an attempt to offer an upgrade, a refund, or a solution. It felt more like dealing with a government office than hospitality staff. No one cared. No one listened. 4. Air Conditioning Disaster Upon entering the room, I noticed the AC wasn’t working at all. I called reception around 5:00 PM—no one came. Called again at 6:00 PM—still nothing. When I returned around 11:00 PM, only then did someone show up. They “fixed” it, but the result was a deafening mechanical noise—so loud it was impossible to sleep. That wasn’t the end. The AC would cut out every 30 minutes, tripping the entire room’s electricity. Lights, sockets, everything gone. I had to keep calling reception every half hour, and each time they’d flip the breaker from their end. This continued throughout the night. I was sleep-deprived, stressed, and furious. 5. Midnight Room Drama At 12:30 AM, after hours of trying to survive in that noise, they suddenly offered to show me some rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors—exactly what I had requested when I checked in. And guess what? Half the rooms were EMPTY. Clearly, they had availability but chose not to give me a decent room. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. I suspect it was discriminatory treatment—perhaps based on race or nationality. By that time, I had a very early flight and was too exhausted to repack and move rooms again. 6. Hygiene Neglect – Plates Left for 24+ Hours When I checked in, there was a pile of used plates and food trays on the console table next to the lift. Shockingly, the same dirty dishes were still there the next morning. No one cleaned them. A so-called 5-star hotel leaving rotting food in a common area for over 24 hours—absolutely disgusting. 7. Checkout Humiliation At checkout, the cold service continued. No “How was your stay?” or “Do you need help with your luggage?” Instead, I was asked to wait so they could send someone to inspect if I used anything from the minibar—like I was a potential thief. For context, I’ve stayed in hotels all over Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and never have I been subjected to such open suspicion. Most places just ask politely and take your word for it. Here, I felt watched and judged. 8. Possibly Racially Biased Behavior This is sensitive, but must be said: as an Asian traveler, I felt like I was treated like a second-class guest. When I observed how they warmly interacted with Western guests—smiling, accommodating, offering solutions—I realized the contrast was too strong to ignore. It felt like I was unwanted from the start. That is not hospitality. That is prejudice. Final Verdict: This hotel is a complete scam. The room photos are strategically misleading. The staff is cold, unaccommodating, and disrespectful. The location is physically difficult to reach, especially with luggage. The service is subpar for any rating, let alone 5 stars. Cleanliness standards are shockingly poor. No sleep. No comfort. No courtesy. I urge Agoda and Booking.com to re-evaluate their rating system for this hotel and take action against this kind of misleading listing. Until then, I strongly advise travelers to stay away from The Elysium Taksim. Istanbul is full of genuinely great hotels—this is not one of them.. .
