. Great base for sightseeing in the old city, close to bazaars and wonderful restaurants
Only downside was not very well sign posted, we arrived at night and had trouble trying to find the apartments
The staff were very friendly and made it all worth while.. .

Little treasure in Sultanahmet. Sultanahmet district is where Istanbul's most visited attractions are located. Thus, your accommodation choices in this area abound and range from budget to luxury hotels. Keep in mind that you will be in the immediate vicinity of several mosques and that the morning call to prayers is quite early. If you are a light sleeper, you may wish to spend the extra money in order to access the protection of the double-pane windows in a luxury hotel. Personally, I enjoyed the melodious chants and thought it made my stay all the more pleasant.
I was fortunate to have found a brand new apartment hotel where the owner is eager to please. In fact, it was a pleasure to meet someone who hasn't been jaded by a prolonged exposure to outlandish and demanding tourists. He does not speak English, but you can simply drop by the tour operator next door who is courteous and happy to liaise and communicate your desires to the hotel owner.
As a final note, I would ask anyone reading this to understand that this hotel is indeed a gem at the given price. However, it is not a place where you will be happy if you expect to be provided, on demand, with a glass of hot milk at three o'clock in the morning. It is a hotel particularly well suited to respectful and genteel tourists.

최고의 숙소였어요^^. very good!!

THINGS I DIDN'T SEE IN OTHER REVIEWS. Let me start with clarifying one thing I didn't see in the reviews that I at least read. This hotel has two places - across the street from each other. The place in the picture (wooden exterior) is one but there is another place. When we arrived, we were told that we were staying in the other place. That was the start. Then we got a basement room. The guy at the desk said it was mentioned in the listing but it was clearly not. After having traveled half the night with a tired 5 year old and pregnant wife, I was ready to contest the hotels.com non-refundable policy. However, my family was tired and it was too short notice to figure out an alternate situation, so we decided to make do for the night. That was the beginning of the trip ...
We then proceeded to clarify that the listing had included breakfast, but they said that it was not included. We pushed back and they said we could have the breakfast included in our stay. I think there's a bug in the hotels.com system or some disconnect where under the description it says Breakfast for X people included, but the hotel's system didn't reflect it. Take a screenshot when booking.
To be fair, the staff did make up for the inauspicious start with good service and they were helpful. The room was comfortable & location was great. In the end, we came away with a positive experience overall. We spent most our time out of the hotel, so the basement room wasn't ideal but ok in the end.
