Really bad hotel. This is the squalid hotel Turkish airlines puts you up in if you have a long layover. The only good thing was that we did not have to pay for this crappy hotel. I think it calls itself a 5 star hotel. It shares a building and buffet with the adjoining Pullman hotel (which looked better). The rooms are appalling and poorly maintained. The bathroom door was broken and couldn't be shut properly and there were issues with the shower. Since we spent most of our time sleeping it was bearable. This hotel is located in a rather boring part of the city so you can't really walk out and look around. Never book this hotel for yourself if you have a choice!!!!. .

Good. Check in was not very smooth, we had a free night with Turkish airlines and paid for the second night. Upon arriving we had to wait a few hours in the lobby for our room to get cleaned before we could check in. Apart from that, the room was very nice, comfortable and quiet.. Hotel breakfast was awful. Hotel is quite far from Sultanahmet and main attractions in Istanbul so don’t stay here if you want to visit those..

Would not stay here again.. The Mercure shares a building with the Pullman. It is located in a soulless part of Istanbul that is quite a distance from the tourist areas. There is very little around the area that is accessible by walking. The room itself was a good size, however it was maintained poorly. The bathroom door didn’t close, the carpet was stained and worn. There was no wi-fi in the hotel for the duration of our 2 night stay. There would be better options than this I am sure.. .
