Average price for money, good location. We stayed 4 nights at the carmel Hotel. Because it was not fully booked we got a free upgrade from a room with an external bathroom to one with an interior bathroom which was nice!
Positive:
- good location, walking distance to most major attractions (30mins or less) and city centre
- many good restaurants in neighbourhood
- good shower, enough warm water
Room for improvement:
- bathroom was quite old and some things were clearly broken for some time already (shower doors -> water leaking onto bathroom floor)
- power sockets in room 1 are hanging loose from the wall, showing all the wires etc. Possibly a dangerous situation, needs some maintenance obviously!
- for 3 euros pp per day you can get breakfast, we would not recommend this. Very poor choice, dry bread, luke warm coffee, not worth 3 euros.

Great stay - would recommend!. We had a good stay and loved the location! We highly recommend if you’re looking for a spot that is affordable and can easily travel into the major city sites and Vatican city. Bus stops were walking distance and very easy to access. If we wanted to cab it was very affordable to take that option as well. The area is very safe and comfortable to be in. Rooms were very spacious and had a/c available. The outside patio was very lovely to sit in. Staff during the mid-day shift were incredible kind and helpful with great recommendations. We were able to leave our luggage after check in to complete a morning tour which was great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend staying in this area!. .
