Paris Revisit Post Covid. Returning to Paris post Covid, for the fourth or fifth personal visit, booking into the Hotel Opéra d'Antin on Rue de Provence. This small 3-3.5 star hotel is conveniently located (with many cafes and eateries), with reasonably sized comfortable rooms by Paris standards, abutting Galeries Lafayette department store in the 9th Arrondissement, in a noticeably safe area, within a 15 minute stroll to the central Montmartre area, and the Madeleine, the Concorde, Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe. The Louvre and the Tuileries Garden and River Seine is also a short stroll (20-25min) away. Walk a little further on is Notre Dame. Across the Seine is St. Germain. One gets to see Paris and keep healthy with the walking! Shopping is 2 minutes round the corner into the main Galeries Lafayette (with the beautiful dome and the roof top restaurant) and continues across rue Mogador where the menswear and sportswear are. Across Boulevard Haussmann is the food and homewares, furnishing, appliances, etc. are. The very well stocked wine Cave is also here. Further along Boulevard Haussmann, Galeries Lafayette ends and Printemps the other major department store starts, across Rue Charras. Getting around Paris there are several subway/underground stations nearby, as well as railway stations to travel further afield in France and to other parts of Europe: Chaussée d’Antin station (Lines 7 and 9), Havre Caumartin (Lines 3 and 9) or Opéra (Lines 3, 7 and 8). RER A: Auber station. RER E: Haussmann - Saint-Lazare station. Saint-Lazare railway station (Versailles) just a 5-minute walk away. Gare de l’Est (railway station) 2 miles away. Gare du Nord just over a mile away (10 minutes on the bus): terminal for the Eurostar and Thalys trains. Gare de Lyon under 5 miles away. Gare Montparnasse approx. 3 miles away. Getting here from Charles de Gaulle airport, arriving T1, go to Exit 32 and cross the road to the Roissy (CDG- Paris Opera) bus waiting area. One can buy the tickets here from the machine or tap your credit card on the bus. Trip takes around 40-50 min, sometimes a little longer, dependent on traffic. No stops along the way till it arrives at its terminal stop at Rue Scribe across from Palais Garnier, from where it is a 5 plus minute stroll to the hotel. One of the Big Bus (hop on hop off) routes also stop here. Tariffs can vary widely; for the trip here, the rate variation was double over a 5 day period.. .

Great location, OK hotel. The location of this hotel is really splendid, very centrally located. It's just a couple of minutes' walk from the Opera Garnier, so if you're going to see the opera, then the location is perfect. If you're going to see the Louvre, it's comfortably within walking distance of that too. And if you're arriving by Eurostar at the Gare du Nord, it is also walking distance, though maybe only if you like walking and don't have too much luggage. It's about a half an hour walk, so you may prefer to take a taxi or the metro. But I walked, and thoroughly enjoyed the walk. The hotel itself is nothing special, but it's OK. I notice there are some really dreadful reviews, which really don't ring true to me. I didn't have any of the problems described. Not sure if the reviewers were just really unlucky and caught them on a bad day or if the reviews are planted by a rival hotel. Make your own mind up. The bedroom was on the small side, but this is probably inevitable that centrally in Paris unless you want to pay the sort of prices you'll find at the Ritz. It wasn't tiny. However, the design was quite poor. There were no shelves or drawers for putting clothes away. If you can't get your clothes on a clothes hanger, then they're staying in the luggage. The room was really not so small that it would have been impossible to include some drawers. There was a safe, but it wasn't attached to the wall and not particularly heavy, so probably not a great place to store anything of great value. The bathroom was clean and well designed (there was no bath, but there was a good shower). The shower was nice and powerful and the temperature could be well controlled. Breakfast was brought to order, rather than from a buffet, so bear that in mind if you're in a hurry. The selection of breakfast was a bit limited, but the croissants and pain au chocolat were very tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful.. .

Fantastic Location. I highly recommend this hotel due to its excellent location—just around the corner from the Galeries Lafayette and a metro station. A few steps away, you’ll find a market as well. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and polite, which I greatly appreciated. The room was very clean, and we had a beautiful view of the street and Parisian rooftops. The breakfast was good, with croissants, pain au chocolat, yogurt, omelettes, etc. and a coffee machine. Overall, I had a fantastic experience—10/10.. .

Staff helpful and passionate. Good location. The water of showers was weak and blockage. We’ve refer the case but without action!.
