Family trip. Great location, safe and quiet. Lots of shopping in area. Convenient in city center. ATM at corner, pharmacy at corner. Staff were very nice. Great boutique hotel experience with elevator!! No official early check in but staff allowed check in as soon as room was cleaned and ready.. .

Warm, kind staff with a historic building in a great place in the city at an affordable price.. Beds and Pillows are really comfortable and the room was suffice to be comfortable but not over the top.
We arrived very late and the staff were welcoming, comprehending and ensured we were ok.
Breakfast Room is cosy, the breakfast was plentiful and there was fresh fruit available and decent coffee.
The restaurant next door to the hotel is brilliant and the food was really good.. We could/should have stayed longer! and we could have stayed here earlier in our trip..

Location is good, rooms not too roomy. Hotel is in a fairly easy location, although in an alley of an alley. Room was mostly comfortable. Had an early flight so did not try the breakfast.. Bathroom was very small, especially the shower, not easy to take a good shower. Facilities seem a little bit run down, could use some upgrading..

Good property with some challenges for people with mobility difficulties.. Location, breakfast. Still needed to climb some stairs to get to the room after exiting the elevator. It was an issue for handicap senior citizens..

4 Star Hotel - 5 Star Location - Yet Receptionists with Bad Attitude Equals 3 Stars. My family and I just spent 10 awesome days in Rome. We stayed at the Hotel Memphis.
This hotel deserves a 5 star rating and would have received one, had it not been for a couple of awkward encounters with one of the receptionists. Yet, let me start with the pros!
The hotel is very clean! When I say clean, I mean they cleaned our room everyday, in a time when most hotels only clean every other day.
The second pro was location! We were 4 minutes from the Trevi Fountain, 7 minutes from the Spanish Steps, 21 minutes from the Colosseum and Roma Termini, and 13 minutes from the Pantheon.
Now the cons. The breakfast was a plus, but the breakfast was not always tasty. There was steamed zucchini on the buffet, but they were cold and tasted odd.
The eggs were good, and you had a choice of scrambled or hard boiled, but wieners for breakfast? Wieners for breakfast? There was bacon sometimes, but the bacon looked undercooked.
The texture of the salami on the buffet was soft and gelatinous. A second con was the attitude of one of the receptionists.
He, is actually the reason why I cannot give the hotel 5 stars! On the third night of my stay, he had the audacity to ask my wife and I where my daughter was staying?
He stated that it was two to a room. I was appalled because it was obvious that he was accusing my wife and I of wrongdoing, when in all actuality we had a family room (adjoining).
I did not appreciate the random audacity of the I got you moment attempt on my vacation! I also did not appreciate his competence level in calling for a taxi, where I could have missed my train to Florence because of it.
He could (older gentleman/receptionist with long gray beard and gray hair), use some hospitality training. For this reason I give the Hotel Memphis 3 out of 5 stars, because I found it awkward that he would be telling me two to a room after we were already checked into the hotel, booked through United Airlines Vacations.. .

Good value for money, but even in November Rome was far too budy. Spotlessly clean, staff were good, breakfast was fine. Good location for most of the sites. Room and en suite well stocked. Single bed, very hard mattress..

Great Central location!. staff were very helpful & friendly and the room was clean. Beds & bedding was super comfortable.. Very little room in my room, although others in my party had ample room in theirs - luck of the draw. Ceramic cups for hot drinks would have been appreciated..

Perfectly located. Great location and surprisingly quiet. Friendly and relaxed personnel. Loved that there was a selection of fresh fruit for breakfast. The terrace was a nice addition to the room. Fluffy pillows were a big plus, and it was nice to have several mirrors in the room. I stayed at Hotel Memphis last summer, and the second stay in December was equally pleasant. There are some really good restaurants in the area. Clementino opened in March, and it's popular for a good reason. We have visited Rome many times, and this neighbourhood is one of the best to have as a base. You can reach all major sites by foot. We will be back for sure next time in Rome.. Everything was to our liking. The bed was a bit hard in my opinion, but my husband thought it was perfect..
