Wonderful Hotel, Amazing Breakfast and Great Staff. What a lucky find for us. Room was as booked with a lovely terrace. It was clean with a comfortable bed and great air conditioning. Breakfast was amazing. First off, you get a platter of assorted breads, olives, pancakes, salads, fruit, sauces and jams. Then you order breakfast. lol Eggs any way you want them (ie over easy, omelets) etc. And the staff were incredible, so friendly and so helpful. The little slope where the hotel sits is a "nothing burger". But beyond that, are countless restaurants and stores at very reasonable prices. Takism square is only a 17 minute flat ground walk away. Public transportation, tour agency pickups would be needed to get to the center where the notable mosques are. Regardless, this hotel made for a great 7 day stay. Highly recommend a stay here with the deluxe room/terrace.. .

Terrible experience with hotel and booking facilitated by Trip.com. My experience with The Fox Hotel and the reservation process was dreadful. I booked three city view double rooms for my family, expecting a 4-star experience. Instead, we arrived to find a hotel that falls far short of its rating. The breakfast area was in the hotel lobby, and the rooms they initially offered were at street level, poorly lit, with bad smells, and one even had a broken air conditioner.
When I objected, pointing out these were not the city view rooms I had reserved, the hotel offered new rooms on the second floor, but the views were still blocked and disappointing. I decided to leave and requested a full refund since they failed to deliver the service I paid for. Initially, they denied receiving my reservation and refused to process the cancellation. They even tried to pressure me into paying for the first night, despite the fact that I didn’t stay there.
I eventually found a new hotel nearby, which was a true 4-star establishment, with the quality and service I expected. The Fox Hotel’s 4-star rating is misleading, and my experience there was completely unacceptable.
Later, I contacted Trip.com to explain the situation and requested a full refund. After several discussions, they offered me just A$20 in Trip.com coins as compensation—an insulting response given the circumstances. To make matters worse, they justified the street-level rooms as legitimate city view rooms, which is completely false.
In summary, both The Fox Hotel and Trip.com failed miserably in providing the service I paid for. The hotel’s rating is misleading, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this place and book with caution through Trip.com.. .

Nice, well equipped hotel, delicious breakfast and friendly staff - Hilly!. Very friendly team at the hotel, the breakfast is amazing - turn up hungry as you get a LOT of extras alongside the eggs, all of which is delicious and fresh! Hotel is well equipped in the rooms, I had a balcony room with views of the city. Was during Ramadan so be prepared for early morning calls for prayer.
A nice area of town as well, school nearby, friendly locals, local shops and restaurants were 40% cheaper than in the tourist spots for the same food.. Nothing, was a very pleasant stay, and would come back to the hotel with the family.
It's in a hilly region so be aware of this if you have young family or have mobility issues.

A good-qiality stay in Istanbul. I picked the property because of favorable review on Booking.com and must admit I was not disappointed. Located on a curvey and steep-gradient street (which is so typical of Istanbul), the hotel boasts a very central location in a close proximity to Taksim square and Istanbul Convention Center. Still, you can enjoy undisturbed night sleep and a level of comfort quite different from one's expectations of golden ceilings and ottoman-style beds. The interior of my guest room precisely match photos, and while relatively small, the room had everyting one needs for a comfortable stay, even a kitchenette with a sink and running water of decent quality. The king bed was comfy to sleep, with 2 lamps on bedstands perfect to read, a couch - good to sit and relax; a small desk- to work in the daytime (only). The bathroom was spacious enough to feature a good-qiality shower cabin with a great (hot) water pressure. Having a fridge in the room was a huge plus.
The 7-storey building has a brand new lift which is big enough for 4-5 pax, and the wiating time is not that long, as there are 5-6 rooms on each floor.
As well, the ground-floor lobby with a fireplace and quite lounge music and an infinite free supply of coffee/tea 24/7 cannot be underestimated. It is also the breakfast spot, and breakfast is served promptly and all the food is fresh and abundant. Having special dietary restrictions, I was really grateful to the team for taking an extra effort to meet them.
That said, the best feature of the hotel is its staff. Managed by a very young and extremely competent, vigilant and entusiastic team speaking abunch of languages, including English, Arabic, Azerbajijani, Russian (and probably more others which I could not discern), the hotel provides unique ambience.
Many thanks to Necmettin, Meriem, Emil, and the whole team for their smiles, readiness to assist in any matter and excellence in hospitality and caretaking.
Plenty of local groceries and kebab places nearby add extra colors to the location, so one will always find a place to bite and shop for daily needs - literally 24/7.
There always is room for improvement though: I'd love to have more sockets in the room; an extra card in the electricty slot to make sure the fidge is up and running at all times ,rather than just while one is in the room; and an extra shelf in the bathroom to put stuff on it.
A very capricious patron may frown on the imperative to throw toilet paper in a dedicated bin rather than to flush it but for an everage Russian it is not a challenge at all.. .
