. The GLK is a nice facility, and the staff is wonderful, from the desk agents to the cleaning staff. It is a narrow and tall building, and the stairs are really steep, so you will probably take the lift. The breakfast buffet is very good, and includes a samovar with genuine Turkish Rize tea. The rooms and interior look a bit worn, so I won't give my review a 5 ✬ rating, but 4 1/2 ✬ would be correct.
Note: it is a 10 minute walk to the Sultanahmet tram station. Add that time and more to your outings.
Warning: the restaurants on the street facing the hotel are all very high price and tourist-oriented. I do not know where you can find local restaurants in the Sultanahmet District (maybe there are none). . .
