Great location for restaurants and sights.. Great location near the river, many restaurants and sights. Bus stop also nearby. Hotel was comfortable and stylish.. .

No matter how beautiful a hotel is, and Hotel Monte Cenci is exquisite (see below), it is the people that truly make a hotel shine brightly. I have been lucky enough to have just enjoyed my 3rd stay at Hotel Monte Cenci and with every stay, I feel as though I am coming home to visit not friends, but family. The kind and generous souls that work at the Hotel Monte Cenci have become family to me. I look forward to every interaction-starting with the warm hugs on the morning of my arrival, to chit chats over a morning cappuccino, and a shared glass of wine in the evening-giving an opportunity to reflect upon the day and learn more about my hotel family and the Eternal City-the people of the Hotel Monte Cenci are treasures to me. From the moment you enter the Hotel from the Via Beatrice Cenci you are welcomed warmly and enveloped by the gleaming lobby with its soaring ceilings & medieval plastered arches that have been lovingly restored and seamlessly blended with modern touches found in the lighting design, bookcases and use of glass. It is a design recipe crafted to perfection at Hotel Monte Cenci. The rooms are generous in size for European standards and meticulously curated with furnishings, linens and art yet manage to invoke the feeling of coziness. On the rooftop terrace where a generous breakfast is served you can enjoy the sounds of the birds while sipping your morning café. The hotel bar on the lobby level, is the perfect location for an evening glass of wine or aperitivo before heading out to dinner. The bar is a work of art-with a single pane of glass set into one of the medieval arch ways with wooden shelves displaying the selections, like a library. For me, the location of Hotel Monte Cenci, is perfect. Located just a block from the Tiber River in a tranquil location, you feel as though you are worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the heavy touristed areas. From the hotel’s location every attraction, from the Pantheon to the Vatican, to the Borghese Gallery, is walkable. Rome is a city best explored on foot. A city where taking a “wrong turn” can often lead to the most incredible surprise be it culinary or architectural. Rome is an immersive experience, and that experience starts with a stay at the Hotel Monte Cenci.. .

A nice boutique hotel but let down by the little things. It provided us with what we needed, the breakfast was nice and served on a sunny rooftop and the waiter was friendly and attentive. Location was good, easy access into the old city and tourist attractions but then across the river from Trastvere which we liked as not being so touristic. Room was cosy and bed comfortable.. Had to remind staff to top up basic things like the water bottle, a clean mug, and they didn't refill some things in the bathroom. The room was very cold and when we spoke to the night staff about this they dismissed us, I had to ask the cleaning staff in the morning for an extra blanket. Shower seemed damaged and leaked a lot when turned on. Would expect a little better from a 4* hotel..

A comfortable and pleasant stay in Rome. The hotel Monte Cenci is a quiet oasis away from the busy streets of Rome. The welcome you get here is warm and authentic and the staff are courteous and are more than happy to help. My room was stylish, comfortable and clean. There was a little noise from the street but, it was minimal. The hotel is tucked away, in the historic old Jewish ghetto area but is close to the major sites and transport links and you feel like you are living in Rome here, rather than just visiting. There were some imperfections, some of the fittings are showing signs of age and wear and one ceiling light was out in my room but, Rome is a city of imperfections and I can forgive these. Overall I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.. .
