In Need of Renovation and Better Cleanliness. Location is great. The breakfast rooftop terrace has a splendid view over the city.. The room definitely needs renovation. Except very poor condition of the bathroom there even were ants and told there. Paying attention to cleanliness would also be beneficial..

Great Location and Service!. Great Neighborhood hotel, close to Pantheon, Trive Fountain and Vatican. Fabio and Daniele at the front desk are the best and so helpful! Thank you. Ask for higher floor, due to busy City street. You must go upstairs for breakfast and nightly City views!. .

4 Stars? - No Way, No How. The plaque on the outside of the Hotel Genio may show 4 stars, but the plaque was probably placed there when there was still a king in Italy (1946). This hotel is at best a 2 star, and those stars are a gift, mainly due to the excellent breakfast buffet and the hotel's location. While the rest of the city is busy getting ready for next year's Jubilee, the Genio is mired in the past, desperately in need of a complete renovation. Do not expect porter service, unless the staff from the breakfast buffet are still on site. Maintenance is available for only4 hours per day. When we arrived, we found a non-functioning mini bar in our room. The sodas, water, and wine appeared to have been left by the previous guests. Be forewarned, the refreshments are charged at the end of your stay, but there is no notice from the hotel beforehand. Our bathroom windowsill became our refrigerator, because they were never able to fix our minibar, or provide a working replacement. The replacement didn't fit into the cabinet, so it was just left outside. I don't know what we would have done if we had stayed in the middle of a hot summer, rather than November & temperatures of 50 degrees F. If the Genio were advertised as a 2 star hotel, then I would understand the frayed mattress bottom, the torn shower curtain, the sporadic heating in the room, or the dust under the bed. If you expect less, then you get less. One of the basics of any hotel these days is at least a working TV, but not at the Genio. Our initial attempt to get news on the very old TV monitor resulted in 200+ channels, all in Italian. We were eventually provided with a new TV with 1 English, 1 French, and 1 German channel. The Genio is OK for an emergency 1 night stay, but not much longer. The positives are the breakfast buffet and the location of the hotel near the Piazza Navona & the Vatican. There are also some excellent restaurants nearby. The attached photos are from our recent stay at the Genio. Very disappointing.. .

Terrible!!!. The hotel I paid for and expected would be 4 stars, but I would actually give it 2 stars. I went with my family and children and I was honestly very disappointed. The bedspreads were torn and dirty, the bathroom, inside the shower, was horribly dirty and there were some things missing in the bathrooms like garbage bags and tissues. The elevator that did have was extremely closed, without any type of ventilation, and on several occasions in the 2 days we were there it was not in operation for a few hours, which with a child in a stroller was very difficult. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.. .

We were satisfied with our stay.. The hotel is very well located in the center of Rome. The main sights can be reached on foot in a few minutes. Many restaurants, bars, shops in the vicinity. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. The design of the hotel is older, but sufficient for a peaceful stay. The room was fine - we had it with a view into the interior of the block. The minibar in the room is for an extra charge. The staff is very nice, helpful. Reception 24/7. The hotel breakfast is sufficient, you can choose. (if you are not very demanding). The hotel has a wonderful terrace on the 6th floor, don't miss it. (especially in the evening, you will see a wonderful view of the whole of Rome).. The accommodation price does not include the tourist tax. You will pay it when you leave. Our room was oriented to the inner block, so you could feel the kitchen of the nearby restaurant..

Superb. Very spacious room. Staff were friendly. Breakfast included was a bit simple with basic cold cuts and cake each day.. Shower pressure was a bit low and the bed was a bit hard but nothing too bad..

Disappointing. Location.. This is by no means a 4-star hotel. I had booked two rooms and one of them was terrible when I paid the same price for both of them. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The air conditioner was not working. It is better if they don't have breakfast at all, the kind of coffee they have is such a shame for Rome..
